GREETINGS FROM THE ALUMNI PRESIDENT
Drexel Hill, PA
May 22, 2008
Dear Bonner Bretheren:
I am humbled and honored to have been chosen to serve as President of The Monsignor Bonner Alumni Association. It is a formidable task and I intend to use my best efforts to make the Alumni a viable and integral part of the Bonner Community. This I cannot do alone and will need the help and support of fellow Alumni.
I want to salute my immediate predecessor, Jon Schafffer, ‘88. Jon put in years of untiring and dedicated service to the School and was an integral part of the Campus and Fields revitalization. If you have not visited Bonner of recent, please do. You will be amazed at the transformation, both outside the building as well as inside. I intend to call on Jon’s talent and advice during my tenure as President. Thank you, Jon.
My immediate goal as President is to revitalize the Alumni and make it an active participant in the Bonner Community. It is my hope to establish a functional Corporate Structure utilizing an Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Class Representative System that spans the years 1957-2008. The Executive Board and Board of Directors will be expected to meet on a regular basis with an Annual “state of the School” meeting held annually to inform all Alumni on the happening at Bonner. I anticipate the expanded use of electronic communication as well as the resources of this website to assist in this endeavor.
The major mission of any Alumni Association is to support the underlying institution. Without financial support from the Alumni the mission of Bonner cannot be accomplished. Please consider making a donation to the Annual Fund and to do so on a consistent basis. This can be done online for your convenience. Steps have been taken to insure all monies received remain at Bonner. This has been an issue in the past and I will be happy to discuss this with anyone who so desires. In addition to financial support, Bonner needs the time, talent and spirit of its Alumni. With this in mind, I ask you to consider helping in the following ways:
- Volunteering to be a Class Representative;
- Volunteer to organize a Class Reunion;
- Take in a Bonner sporting event;
- Attend and support the “Friar Fest”;
- Attend the annual “Beach Blast”;
- Learn more about Bonner and help the Admissions Office market the school to prospective students.
Information on any of the above can be found on this Web Site.
Bonner has a rich history and many successful graduates. I invite you to join me in keeping the history and spirit of Bonner very much alive for the benefit of future graduates.
Thanks for your anticipated support.
