Bonner - Prendie Beach Blast

Monsignor Bonner High School Bonner on the Bay began in 1994 at the Sea Isle Yacht Club. This all-classes reunion combined with Prendie in 2002. Now in its twelth year, the event has since moved to La Costa in Sea Isle. The event brings together over 1,000 alumni and friends and has raised over $100,000 (during its existence) for high school tuition assistance for Bonner and Prendie.

Phon-a-thon

The Phon-a-thon is held in the beginning of the New Year as a follow-up to the annual appeal. Students call to ask for participation in a gift to the annual fund. Computer labs, enhancing technology, new school desks, and flooring and renovations in nine classrooms have been made possible through the Phon-a-thon.

Communion Breakfast

The Communion Breakfast returned to Bonner in 2001. Mass and breakfast have been recently held at the Drexelbrook in the Fall of the school year. It is an opportunity for alumni, students, family and friends to come together and celebrate the Eucharist. Deceased alumni of Bonner are remembered at this Mass and a Book of Remembrance is placed on the altar listing all the deceased alumni names. The Father John Melton, O.S.A. Award is presented to a graduate of Bonner for his outstanding contribution to the community and The Father Al Smith, O.S.A. Award is presented to someone who has given continuous service to Monsignor Bonner High School.

Alumni Golf Outing

The Alumni and Friends Golf Outing is usually held in the second or third Monday in May. The first chairperson of this event was William Engblom. The outing is now in its twenty-third year. The golf outing has been held at various courses over the years.

Friar Fest

Monsignor Bonner’s Dinner Auction, known as the “Friar Fest,” began in February 1989. The auction consists of three key components: live auction, silent auction and the $100 raffle for a prize of $20,000. The proceeds benefit the students of Monsignor Bonner High School through supporting academic scholarships, enhancing academics, and the improvement school facilities.
